He is about the same age as Joshua Bell who is forty-three years old. They both went to the same musical school as children.

He was schooled in New York. Bobby Yang and his group, the unrivaled, play modern music along with contemporary music. They are known for playing popular music such as Queen and The Rolling Stones entirely by ear.

Bobby Yang started off as a member of Meadowmount School of Music, where he learned proper technique of playing the violin and how to play classical music extraordinarily well. Unlike all the other students Bobby was allowed to listen to modern rock on his off time giving him the inspiration of a life time, to make the violin as popular as the guitar.

Bobby of course has not yet accomplished this goal but he has certainly changed many viewers perspective on what the violin is capable of. Not too long ago Bobby performed at LucasFilm in San Francisco where his band performed a space series. Not only was the music superb and deserved the standing ovation that he received, but his ability to change an E-string with in twenty five seconds during the performance also deserved the standing ovation. Overall Bobby Yang loves playing by ear and pushing the violin to new heights.

Started to play cello at 7, with Irene Sharp. AT 9 years he switched teachers to Gabor Reito. Itzhak Perlman introduced him to Leonard Rose, In order to study with Leonard his family had to move to New York in 1983. Rose described Haimovitz as "probably the greatest talent I have ever taught". February 1985, Haimovitz joined the Israel Philharmonic orchestra in a concert that was broadcasted. was followed in 1986 by an American tour with Mehta and the Israel Philharmonic. He was given an Avery fish career grant, for musical achievements. He was the youngest musician to recieve this. In 1987 he signed a contract with Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft. He is married to Luna Pearl Woolf.

Rivka Golani was born on March 22nd 1946 in Tel Aviv, Israel. Her father was Jewish, and had lost his family in the Holocaust. Golani’s mother was from Polish Galicia and and was very artistic, same as her father. Since the Golani family had been so engaged in the arts, Rivka Golani decided to play the violin age age seven, and became a pupil of Alexander Moskowsky at 18. while her sister had learned to play the cello. Switching to the viola at 21, she became a pupil of the composer and violist Oedoen Partos while studying 1965-71 at the Rubin Academy of Music at the University of Tel Aviv.
Golani lived in both London and Toronto. She was a member of the Israel Philharmonic and appeared as a soloist with other orchestras in Israel before moving to Canada in 1974. Golani taught 1978-87 at the University of Toronto and her pupils included Mary Carol Nugent, Beverley Spotton, and Kent Teeple. In 1987, Golani settled in London with her then husband, the conductor Thomas Sanderling, but she frequently returned to Canada to give concerts. She performed on a viola with a unique cut-away design made by her former husband, the Hungarian-born luthier Otto Erdesz. Then she later appeared as soloist with several orchestras and symphonys such as the Boston Symphony orchestra, Royal Concergebouw, Tokyo Metropolitan Orchestra, and many more. At the Promenade concerts in London she played concertos by Walton in 1984, Robin Holloway in 1985, and Elgar in 1990. By 2003, she had 215 pieces and 50 concertos were written for her.

Michael Anthony was an american born average boy who simply had a
profound interest in music. As a teenager, he was involved in sports as well
as other extra curricular activities but in his spare time he began to pick
up guitar and then switched to bass because of the popularity of guitar.
After graduating from Arcadia High School, he focused his life to his
passion for music and began to play in bands that he either helped found or
that needed a bassist. After a few minorly successful groups, Anthony was
picked up to join the famous rock group known as Van Halen. This group
became a huge success because of its unique sound and creativity, both of
which Anthony contributed to enormously. Over time, the band diminished from
its exorbitant success, this led to Anthony along with Sammy Sagar, Chad
Smith, and Joe Satriani to form a modern reunion of rock legends in a band
known as Chickenfoot. This combination of legends has led to some major
successes even though the band has only been in existence for a short period
of time.

Biography: Pinchas Zukerman was born in Tel Aviv, Israel on July 16, 1948. His father Yehuda Zukerman taught him how to play violin at age seven and Pinchas was studying at the Tel Aviv Academy of Music at age eight. He later moved to New York and enrolled in the Julliard School at age 12. Zukerman studied under Ivan Galamian. His career began with his New York debut at the Lincoln Center in 1969. He had married flautist Eugenia Zukerman in 1968. Zukerman became director of the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra in 1980. Zukerman got a divorce in ’83 and married actress Tuesday Weld in ’85. In 1998 they divorced. In the same year Zukerman accepted conductorship at Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra in Ottawa. He now has been married to Amanda Forsyth for six years, the principal cellist in the NAC Orchestra. He is also on the faculty at the Manhattan School of Music. He travels on occasion on tours for concerts as a soloist, chamber musician, and conductor.

When Garrett was four years old, his father bought a violin for his older brother. Garrett was interested and soon learned to play as well. A year later, he entered a competition and won first prize. By the time he was seven, he was playing once a week in public. He studied violin at the Lubeck Conservatoire. When he was twelve, Garrett began working with the Polish violinist Ida Haendel, often traveling to London and other cities to meet her.
At the age of 13, Garrett recorded two CDs, appeared on German and Dutch television, and gave a concert at the house of the German President, the Villa Hammerschmidt, at Dr. von Weizsäcker’s personal invitation. He was offered to use of the famous Stradivarius "San Lorenzo", which is among the best instruments of the "golden period". When he was fourteen, as the youngest soloist ever, Garrett signed an contract with Deutsche Grammophon Gesellschaft. Aged 17, he played with the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra in concerts marking the 50th anniversary of India’s Independence. Garrett Continued to study at the Royal College of Music in London. He graduated from Juilliard in 2004.

Bio: Billy Sheehan has changed the way bass guitar is played. Rising to god status in the 80's with his Buffalo, NY based band Talas, Billy was recruited by David Lee Roth when Roth left Van Halen in '85. He recorded two platinum selling albums with Roth before setting out on his own. Forming Mr. Big in 1989, with "To Be With You" from their album release "Lean Into It" the band achieved a Billboard #1 single in the US and 14 other countries. While developing his trademark style of playing he has performed over 4000 live performances on every continent except Africa and Antarctica.
He was voted the "Best Rock Bass Player" 5 times in Guitar Player magazines Readers Poll, an honor which placed him in their "Gallery of Greats" (alongside Jimi Hendrix, Paul McCartney, Geddy Lee and Eddie Van Halen to name a few). On January 27, 1999 Billy's handprints and signature were captured in cement on the Hollywood Rockwalk at Guitar Center. This is an honor given only to those artists who have made a considerably noteworthy contribution to Rock and Roll. Gary Karr started his career as a young performer, making his debut on the nationally televised New York Philharmonic Young People’s Concert in 1962, conducted by Leonard Bernstein. He performed a solo piece, “The Swan” from the carnival of the animals. Since this inception of his bass playing life he has been featured on six continents with orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, London Philharmonic Orchestra, Montreal Symphony, Oslo Philharmonic, Hong Kong Philharmonic, Simon Bolivar Orchestra (Caracas, Venezuela), Zurich Chamber Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony, and with all the major orchestras of Australia, playing solo pieces.
Karr has taught bass lessons at several prestigious universities, such as Julliard School, Yale University, New England Conservatory, North Carolina School of the Arts and Indiana University. He eventually retired to Victoria, BC in 2001 and currently lives with his dog after 40 years of solo performance.

Amy Moretti was born in Wisconsin and began playing violin at the age of 4. She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music graduating as valedictorian. Moretti made her debut at Carnegie Hall for her solo concerto debut in 1998, has been featured with many Orchestras in the U.S., and has made many solo and collaborative appearances through out her career. She was formerly concertmaster of the Oregon Symphony in Portland with Music Director Carlos Kalmar and earlier, the Florida Orchestra in Tampa, St. Petersburg, and Clearwater with Music Director Jahja Ling and his successor Maestro Stefan Sanderling. Moretti’s professional orchestral career spanned nearly eight seasons.
In 2007, Amy Schwartz Moretti was invited Robert McDuffie to join the faculty of the Mercer University Townsend School of Music as Director of the newly established Robert McDuffie Center for Strings and remains as the director since then. From then she has been a dedicated teacher still appearing in various concerts and recitals. She recently joined Atlanta Symphony principal cellist Christopher Rex and pianist Elizabeth Pridgen to form the Trio RPM. She also performs with her husband, Steve Moretti, a jazz drummer and classical percussionist, as the Moretti Duo. She now lives in Macon, Georgia with her family.

Nigel Kennedy, a violinist known world-wide for not only his classical music, but for his integration into pop and jazz, inspires people everywhere with his music. To quote Nigel, “I can’t give anything unless it’s real…” and Mr. Kennedy certainly can dish it out.
Born on the 28th December, 1956, Nigel was born to John Kennedy and Scylla Stoner in Brighton, England. After graduating from Sir Yehudi Menuhin School in England, he went on to study at Julliard School of Music. In New York he studied under the celebrated teacher, Dorothy DeLay at Julliard. His career has taken him on countless international tours, performing with the world's major orchestras and conductors, from Europe to the United States of America, Central and South America, to South East Asia and Australia. His passion for jazz has resulted in the album "Blue Note Sessions". Nigel Kennedy is currently creating a new orchestra, made up of talented young musicians from Poland. He is expected to make an international tour with this Orchestra this year (2010).

Edgar Meyer was born November 24, 1960. He is widely regarded as the best Bassist alive today. He was born and raised in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and was taught Bass by his father, Edgar Sr. Meyer plays classical, bluegrass, newgrass, and jazz.

Meyer is best known for achieving virtuosity, like bass players Gary Karr and Mark Bernat before, has tried performing music originally composed for other instruments, like Bach's unaccompanied cello suites. In 2000, he won the Avery Fisher Prize, given once to classical players for outstanding achievement. In 2002, he was named a MacArthur Fellow. Meyer's work with Yo-Yo Ma and Mark O'Connor on the Sony Classical disc, “Appalachia Waltz” reached the top of the U.S. pop charts for 16 weeks when released. Meyer collaborated again with Yo-Yo Ma and Mark O'Connor on “Appalachian Journey”, which earned a Grammy Award for Best Classical Crossover Album. Meyer has composed a number of works, including two double bass concertos, a double concerto for bass and cello and a violin concerto. Meyer also teaches Bass at Vanderbilt University and the Curtis Institute.

Biography: Julian Lloyd Webber was born on April 14, 1951, and is the second son of William the composer William Lloyd Webber (the composer Andrew Lloyd Webber is his older Brother). At age sixteen he won a scholarship to the Royal College of Music which he attended until completing his studies with the French cellist Pierre Fournier in Geneva in 1973. During January of 1972, Julian made his professional debut playing Sir Arthur Bliss’s Cello Concerto at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London. Since then he has worked with many notable artists; including, Yehudi Menuhin, Lorin Maazel, Esa-Pekka Salonen and Georg Solti to Elton John and Stephanie Grappelli. He has a son named David who was born in 1992, and was the result of a marriage with Zahra Mahmud Ghazi, a member of the Afghan royal family. He is currently married to the cellist Jiaxin Cheng, and a biography called Married to Music, which was written by Margaret Campbell in 2001.

Summary: He is a world renowned solo cellist, and president of the Elgar society.

Sarah Chang was born to two already musically talented Korean parents. Her father was a violinist while her mother was a composer. She has a younger brother named Michael. She started playing the violin at age 4 with a 1/16 sized violin and auditioned for Juilliard School, playing Bruch Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor. She was a child prodigy and recorded her first album when she was 10.
Sarah has played with the New York Philharmonic, Boston Symphony, Vienna Philharmonic, and numerous others. Many awards have been bestowed upon her like Hollywood Bowl’s Hall of Fame award and Gramaphone Magazine’s Young Artist of the Year. She continues to tour and record CDs. Biography: Alisa Weilerstien lived in a musical family: her dad Donald, a violinist, and her mother Vivian, a pianist. She hit a slight bump in her life when at age 9 she was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes. At age 13 she made her debut with the Cleveland Orchestra in October of 1995. Alisa Weilerstien studied cello in the Cleveland Institute of Music in the youth program.
Since her graduation from the youth program, she was invited back in August 2009 to teach young cellists, coming two days per semester. She continued to play cello until she graduated from Columbia University with a degree in Russian History in 2004. Weilerstien has played with many orchestras such as the Boston Symphony, the Chicago Symphony, and the Barcelona Symphony. She also does solo works and plays with her parents as the Weilerstien Trio. Other than music Alisa Weilerstein is an advocate for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Program.

Repin was born in 1971, in Novosibirsk, Siberia. He began playing on the violin at five years, and after only six months completed his first public appearance. He studied with Zakhar Bron, in his hometown. At seven years he gave his first performance with an orchestra and at eleven years he had his St. Petersburg recital debut. In 1989, his worldwide acknowledgment happened when he attended and won as the youngest-ever winner of the world’s most prestigious and demanding violin competition, the Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels.
Ever since, Repin had opportunities to perform with the world’s greatest orchestras and conductors. He is invited regularly to be a guest at festivals such as the Hollywood Bowl, Tanglewood, Ravivinia, Verbier the BBC Proms, and etc. Upon going to the “Carte blanche” to the Louvre in Paris, he got to record a live concert, what is now a prize-winning recording of music performed with colleagues including the gypsy violinist Roby Lakatos. He has played many chamber performers including Mamaisky Argeritha, Yuri Bashmet, Evgeny Kissin, Nikolai Lugasnsky, Micha Mischa Maisha Maisky and Mikhail Pletnev.

Repin’s genres are Russian music and French music. He mostly plays the great Russian violin concertos, and of course some 20th century and contemporary music too. The new music he also plays are work done by John Adams and Sofia gubaidulina.

Repin is most known for winning the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Competition in Brussels at the age of seventeen.

The violin that Repin performs on is the magnificent Stradivarius ‘Ruby’ 1708.

“Vadim Repin’s artistry combining fiery passion with impeccable technique, poetry and sensitivity. “Simply the best, the most perfect violinist I have heard” exclaimed Yehudi Menuhin. “The greatest living violinist” proclaimed Berlin Tagesspiegel last year.

Kim has won the second prize at the Lionel Tertis International viola competition and the 1980 ARD international Music Competition in Munich. She also played the viola in the soundtrack for the film Ulysses’ Gaze, along with Eleni Karaindrou.
